Mid-Flight Arrival

Pregnant Metlakatla resident Jen Chinuhuk went into early labor on December 26, 2004, and was evacuated for delivery. Flight time from Metlakatla to Ketchikan is approximately 14 minutes. Baby Isabelle was born as the plane descended into Ketchikan. "I heard the baby cry as I was starting to land," said pilot Randy Sullivan, who was flying for Pacific Airlines. "The doctor yelled, 'It's a girl!'"
