Title:
U.S. Navy Lt. j.g. Mari Freitag
Photographer:
VFA-122 Plane Captain (name not known)
Description:
Mari Freitag was born and raised in Ketchikan. While attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks, she enrolled in a private pilot ground school class to fill in some college credits. That's when she decided she wanted to be a career pilot, rather than a lawyer, as she'd previously planned.
After being accepted into the naval aviation program, Mari was awarded her wings on December 21, 2018. She has flown solo many times, including her first solo flight of a F/A-18E Super Hornet (pictured here).
