Title:
Wood Winch with Hand Crank
Description:
This winch, from a hand trollers' camp site near Clover Pass, was used to pull small boats above the high tide mark on shore. Once the boat was above high tide it could be stored or repaired. Hand troll gear was historically used by commercial fisherman fishing for salmon and halibut from their small boats. The winch was also used for fish trap spiller lines.
