The "True Place of Healing" totem pole, carved by Wayne Hewson, is carried to its final location in front of Metlakatla's medical facility. Tsimshian carvers continue to carve and raise totem poles throughout Metlakatla, demonstrating an ongoing connection to their rich cultural heritage.
