Title:
View Through the Newly-completed Tunnel from the North, October 29, 1954
Photographer:
Paulu T. Saari
Description:
Construction of the 300-ft. tunnel began on August 14, 1953. Seeing it after completion, a visiting Juneau resident said, "After all I'd heard in Juneau about the tunnel, I thought it must be at least a mile long. Heck, it's nothing but a gopher-hole."
