Description:
Located on the corner of Jefferson and Tongass, this Chevron service station was owned and operated by Dewey Barber and Ken Eichner. Among the employees were Bob Crowder, George Arnold, Cal Hoffman, George Kammerzelle, Danny Eichner, Harold Lervik and Leonard Kemp.

According to Standard Oil Company officials, the station featured "… all the latest in improvement and design provided by Standard in its widespread experience, and will offer Ketchikan motorists facilities and service comparable to the finest obtainable in either Alaska or the states." The Wingren Court apartment building is visible in the background.
