The policeman in this scene is Walt Bolling, one of two Ketchikan policemen who had small parts in the movie. Other local residents appearing in the film were Eugene Topping, Dorin Robinson, Betty Sykes, Arlene Sirevog, Donald Hammond and Lela Lewis.
