"Downtown Area Wired for TV
Yesterday afternoon the Ketchikan TV crew finished stringing the coaxial television cable in the downtown area of Ketchikan. Erling Martinsen (above), electrician, is shown removing the special wire winder which automatically binds the coaxial cable (upper arrow) to the supporting messenger cable (lower arrow) with a stainless steel wire. The area now wired will service from Grant street down Front and Main Streets, down Mission and Stedman to Stedman street bridge. There are 15 business houses now subscribed for television service in this area."
