Celebrating his 84th birthday anniversary, Jack Close (above) today recalled that he came to Ketchikan in 1906 and has lived here since then. He became a barber at the age of 17 and has been active at his trade for 67 years. Married for 30 years, he has been a member of the Elks lodge for 52 years."
