Photographer:

Description:
Vincent Boucher and his wife settled on Gravina Island in 1935. For decades, Boucher and his family supplied high-quality fresh produce to Ketchikan.
Though he cultivated only one of his 91 acres, his intensive farming methods - including the annual use of tons of seaweed as fertilizer - produced large crops.
Boucher died in 1985, at the age of 91. Mrs. Boucher died two years later.
