"Revilla Ready for 3D Showing
Modern three dimension (3D) movies will make its first appearance in Ketchikan tomorrow when the Revilla theatre opens with "Fort Ti" starring George Montgomery. Ernie Lackey (left), local manager of the Revilla, and Clarence Farmer, installation engineer for B. F. Shearer Company, are shown above comparing the reel sizes of the, 3D film and the regular reel. The large reel held by Lackey is necessary for 3D showings and will run for 40 minutes as compared with the regular run of 17 minutes. Two projectors are synchronized to run together for the three dimension pictures. Two projectionists will be necessary to operate the projectors with Robert Droogs in charge of the projection room. A new silver screen has also been installed to give a brighter and more detailed projection."
