Clara Diaz

"We recreated the photo in the PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center Gastroenterology Room, which is a procedure room adjacent to the Operating Suites. Clara Diaz, RN, was in the original photo and we were lucky enough to be able to include her in our updated photo as well. Clara worked for Ketchikan General Hospital for twenty years beginning in the 1960s and was in charge of the operating rooms. It was a joy to hear her stories of her work at KGH starting with her recruitment from the Philippines by the KGH Administrator, a now—retired nun, who recently turned 99, and with who she is still in touch." — Marty West
