After you've been here a while, you might notice a shift in your mindset. You begin to understand a fundamental contradiction: it's the staunch individual who makes the community possible. You come to realize that you think living on a rock in the middle of the ocean is just fine.
Southeast Alaska's unique location - far from the rest of the country and dotted throughout thousands of islands - necessitates a self-actualization, a life of making and doing. Some say that here you can realize anything that you can dream, and that here you become who it is you're really meant to be.
