Umeko Seaver is a Port Captain at the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS). As a Port Captain, Umeko oversees the vessel operation, safety, and maintenance. She is responsible for hiring and training crew members to maintain compliance with regulations. Umeko credits her many excellent mentors over the years and works to give that same style of mentorship. She is passionate about creating positive change within the maritime industry and improving policy and processes towards a safer and more inclusive workplace.
