Bill Livingston opened Hamburger Heaven on September 11, 1953. Six weeks later, he served his 5,000th burger - free of charge - to Pfc. Don Shride.
On December 31, 1954, Livingston Ran This ad in the Ketchikan Daily News:
"Happy New Year! And thank you, Customers, for giving us a very successful 1954. Our little joint sold over 40,000 Heavenly Hamburgers (without a single fatality.)"
Hamburger Heaven was located at 432 Dock Street, behind the Coliseum Theatre. It was destroyed in the Coliseum/Red Men fire in 1956.
