Description:
Stevenson, center, in dark hat, arrived in Ketchikan on the Canadian liner Princess Louise. Governor of Illinois from 1949 - 1953, he had been the Democratic presidential candidate in 1952, and would be again in 1956. After a reception at the Elks Hall, followed by a brief tour of the area, Stevenson proceeded on to Juneau and Fairbanks.
