Back to the Fifties : More Ketchikan Photos by Paulu Saari
Title:
Dock Street, July 4th, 1953
Photographer:
Paulu T. Saari
Description:
The block between Front and Mission is closed off for booths and activities.

The Stedman Hotel was still adorned with its distinctive cupola and bay windows. They were removed during a remodeling in the mid-1960s.

In the building between the Stedman Building and the First National Bank building (partially visible at right) are Neilsen's Clothing and Sporting Goods, Norma's Style Shop, and Hardcastle's Insurance. Drs. Ralph Carr and Louis Salazar also had offices there. The building was later enlarged and connected to the bank building.
