Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
Families on the Dock
Description:
"I was born and raised in Ketchikan and moved away several times, but Ketchikan has always been in my heart. I was excited when my Southern—born husband suggested that we move to my hometown after more than 13 years in Haines. I feel privileged to raise our two daughters in the same town where I grew up. Our photo evokes the original in some ways, but we wanted to show more of the beautiful scenery. As is typical here, the weather wasn't very cooperative. This was our second attempt at recreating this picture. It was a fun experience and we are glad that we decided to participate." — Serene Schreckhise
