Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
First Bank
Description:
"First Bank celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2014, dovetailing with the remodel and grand re—opening of the downtown Main Branch building in January 2015. The building was constructed in 1903 on Dock Street and was the first reinforced concrete fireproof commercial building in all of Alaska. It originally housed the Miners & Merchants Bank, but in 1924 First National Bank of Ketchikan, now named First Bank, opened in this location. Contrasting the original architecture and neighborhood, we're pleased that the bank joins many other downtown businesses in maintaining the treasured historic character of Ketchikan." — Heidi Ekstrand
