Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
College Class
Description:
"The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan, formerly Ketchikan Community College, has a long history of training students for jobs that are relevant to our community. In the 1950s, mining was the topic of the day. Today, Marine Transportation courses are an important part of what UAS Ketchikan teaches. The campus awards over 450 U.S. Coast Guard—approved certificates and licenses to mariners each year from deckhands to marine pilots from all over the state of Alaska. Technology and demographics have changed a lot in the last 50 years."
