Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
Celebrations
Description:
Seeking to raise the spirits of cannery workers at the Alaska Packers' Association Cannery in Loring, the cooks decorated a Fourth of July tree in lieu of having firecrackers. Whether it was the tree or the bottles used in decorating that raised their spirits is not clear. Ketchikan High School students recreate this amusing scene with bottles more appropriate to their age and academic endeavors.
