Description:
The Tongass Trading Company built this warehouse in 1924 to accommodate its expanding merchandise lines. Other notable occupants include the American Can Co. (1937—1951), Almquist Industrial Co., Allied Industrial Co., Ellis Airlines, Tyee Airlines, Temsco Airlines, and Southeast Stevedoring. Before closing its fixed wing division, Temsco Airlines operated one of the largest air taxi services in Southeast Alaska. Carlin Air began operating out of the building in 2002.
