Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
Common Interests
Description:
"This historic photo speaks to us of a group of four men who share a common interest in an outdoor activity. They are reflecting on what they have just done and what they are about to do. Their relaxed stance shows both interest and repose. The defining features seemed to be serious faces, hats, boots, cigars and hands in pockets. The four in the modern version share a common interest in an outdoor activity, soccer. The cigars are exchanged for soccer balls, but the attire reflects the formality of the past. The footwear is set to match the activity, and the hats offer individual character. Soccer is, after all, a gentleman's game." — Scott Brandt—Erichsen
