Haida
Plaited red cedar bark potato basket. The basket is square in shape with two rows of twining over plaiting, three rows of lighter twining as a design element, two bands of black cedar, blank design field, two more rows of black dyed bark, and two more rows of twining for finishing. The heavy rim color of black bark was obtained by boiling it with alder bark, a rusty tin can, and iron nails.
