Bird in the Air, Serigraph, 2016

Guud San Glans (Robert Davidson)
Haida

One of Canada's most prolific and respected artists, Davidson mixes elements of traditional Northwest Coast design with a distinctly modern flair. His great-grandfather was the famed Haida artist, Charles Edenshaw. He taught the philosophy of Northwest Coast design in 1984 and Northwest Coast design in 1985 for the Totem Heritage Center's Native Arts Studies Program.

Serigraphy, also known as silk-screening or screen-printing, is a stencil-based printing process where ink is forced through a fine screen onto the paper beneath.
