This quilt, sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard Officer's Wives Club, depicts Ketchikan industry, history, art, and important communal places. Coast Guard families often make Ketchikan home for two to three years before being reassigned to their next base. Despite the transient nature of military assignments, many of these families make every effort to become involved in the community and make this place "home".
