Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
Ladies at the Beach
Description:
"The people who work at the schools, University and public libraries in Ketchikan are more than professional colleagues: we're friends. We like to break librarian stereotypes, much like these ladies of a century ago who pushed the boundaries of what was considered 'appropriate' behavior for women. And just like these women in 1915, we enjoy one another's company, we laugh when we're together, we relish the outdoors, and we look good in black. Our photographer, Nathan Brooks, took over 150 shots during this quick session between downpours at Rotary Beach, and the hardest part of the project was picking just one photo." — Lisa Pearson
