Then & Now : A community photography exhibit connecting Ketchikan's past to the present through the recreation of historic photos
Title:
Ladies' Basketball
Description:
"The Ketchikan Lady Kings are proud to recreate the historic photo and to testify how far women's sports have come since the passing of Title IX. Long ago, women broke the barrier that sports were only for men. The uniforms back then showcase restrictions in apparel that the Lady Kings of today no longer face. This experience created fun team—bonding and gave us a chance to ponder Lady Kings basketball of the past. Whether we realize it or not, the current Lady Kings basketball team carries on a legacy that the women before us started. When we play ball, we play for, and represent, the Lady Kings of the past, present, and future." — Eliah Anderson, #32
