Hudson's Bay Company

Founded in London in 1670, the Hudson's Bay Company traded wool blankets throughout Canada and the northern United States in the 1700s and 1800s, often for animal pelts. Point refers to the French "empointer" which means, "to make threaded stitches on cloth."
