Fluted Edge Basket with Yellow False Embroidery
The false embroidery design at the center of the basket is "head of the salmonberry and cross." False embroidery is a technique used to decorate twined baskets in which a third, colored weft element is incorporated into the outer wefts. False embroidery slants in the opposite direction as the rest of the twining and is not visible on the inside of the object.
